NICO COMPANY
NICO srl is an Italian company was founded in 1977 by Dr. Giovanni Balistreri, with the aim of creating a highly specialized service company focused mainly on the chemical and petrochemical industry.
Today NICO is leader in Italy the broad field of environmental services, particularly aimed at the Oil&Gas and Energy, specialized in industrial waste management with an approach that is “Global service” (collection, packing and loading, transportation and disposal at approved facilities), Reclamation of industrial and civil sites contaminated sites, including reclamation, Asbestos, in the Decommissioning of industrial plants, in the Environmental emergency, in the technologies on site to reduce and treat waste (soil, civil and industrial sludge, hazardous and non-hazardous waste).
Nico operates in all the oil plants active in Italy and in numerous EU and non-EU countries, and has operational offices in Sicily, Puglia, Basilicata and Lombardy, a branch in England and stable organizations in Kuwait and Israel.
The company employs highly qualified technical personnel: engineers, chemists, geologists and numerous specialized operators engaged in the various activities of the different fields and skills.
The experience and the commitment that has been more dedicated to the update on technologies and methodologies of intervention that change with the evolution of industrial scenarios, led to a rapid growth of our company, to advance hand in hand with transformations of the productive reality, more and more adherence to the concept of sustainable development, has invested heavily in the activities of experimentation, research and development with projects aimed at minimizing the production of industrial waste, and at the same time to their recovery and development.
Thanks to its staff of engineers, NICO elaborates and proposes to its customers the best technical solutions, and from the least environmental impact, to be implemented for every type of area and intervention up to the degree of executive detail.
NICO has obtained a ‘QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM’ certified according to ISO 9001/2000, while since 2007 its ‘ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM’ has also been certified by RINA, in accordance with ISO14001, and its ‘SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM’ certified according to ISO 45001:2018.
Nico operates according to ethical principles and in compliance with its own organizational model developed in compliance with Legislative Decree 231/2001.
The great attention given to risk analysis and our safety procedures as well as the effort dedicated to training and all our staff, has proudly led us to achieve the goal of ZERO ACCIDENTS FOR THE YEARS 2017-2018-2019-2020

NICO has adopted its own Model of Organisation, Management and Control (MOG) according to the Italian Legislative Decree 231/2001, with the aim to set up a structured and organic system of guiding principles, operational procedures and facilities specific, inspired by the criteria of sound business management and is aimed, among other things, to prevent the commission of the offences envisaged by the Decree. The adoption of a similar reference model has been promoted and applied to all other NICO group companies.
